It can do up to 19% damage. While this attack can be used as a third jump, it goes relatively little vertically and horizontally, at a maximum angle of about 45 degrees. It's bad as an attack combo as the opponent can DI out of it and punish him. It is similar in knockback and movement to Samus's Screw Attack and Charizard's Fly. It is usually used as a recovery move, along with Wario Waft and the Wario Bike.

When Wario becomes Wario Man this moves effect is changed. Instead of it being a multiple hit attack it becomes a two hit electrical attack (one hit at initiation and another at the end of the attack). The move becomes much stronger with a higher amount of damage given and a much larger knockback.

Wario's Corkscrew move in Brawl is very different than his previous one, aside from naming. Wario doesn't have to do a Shoulder Charge to do it, and it can be started in midair. The Brawl version of Corkscrew also has a completely different animation and gives Wario more of a vertical boost than a horizontal one.

BrawlWarioCorkscrew

Wario using his Corkscrew move on Luigi in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Corkscrew is Wario's Up Special Move in the Super Smash Bros. It launches him very slightly into the air, less than a fully charged Wario Waft.

Origin

One of Wario's abilities in Wario World was the Corkscrew Conk, where Wario does a Shoulder Charge, then jumps. It gives Wario a horizontal boost to his jumps, and it can be used to attack with as well.

Wario's Corkscrew move in Super Smash Bros. Brawl is very different than his previous one, aside from naming. Wario doesn't have to do a Shoulder Charge to do it, and it can be started in midair. The Brawl version of Corkscrew also has a completely different animation and gives Wario more of a vertical boost than a horizontal one.
