Shadow of Andross is an event match in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. As Fox and Falco, the players must KO Wolf in the Lylat Cruise stage, while being attacked from and having to avoid the Assist Trophy character (Andross).
Trivia[]
- This event is a reference to the fact that Wolf and Andross are the main villains of the Star Fox universe.
- This is the only time an Assist Trophy character is on the stage permanently, from the very start of the event until the players have successfully defeated Wolf.
- Strangely --aside from the final two co-op events-- Fox and Falco are not seen, used, or mentioned in any other of the previous 18 co-op events until this last one with an assigned character (Co-Op Event 19: Shadow of Andross).
- Additionally, this is Fox and Falco's only appearance in the co-op events with an assigned character.
- This event appears to be the inverse of solo event Event 38: The Wolf Hunts the Fox, where instead of using Wolf to defeat Fox and Falco, the players use Fox and Falco to defeat Wolf.
- This event is similar to the Melee event Event 29: Triforce Gathering, where two characters (the main protagonists) team up to defeat a villain (the main antagonist) from any specific game of their own universe.
- Strangely, while Melee's Event 45: Game and Watch Forever! has the assigned character as Mr. Game & Watch (which is the set last unlockable character to be unlocked in Melee) and Brawl's solo event Event 38: The Wolf Hunts the Fox has the assigned character as Wolf (which is the set last unlockable character to be unlocked in Brawl), this co-op event has assigned characters who are not the last unlockable characters players unlock in the game. Instead, the players use Fox (for P1) and Falco (for P2). Fox is a starter character, while Falco is an unlockable character (which may be unlocked first).
- The last unlockable characters are assigned characters in the three co-op events Co-Op Event 14: The Dark Guardians (which is Wolf), Co-Op Event 15: Four Swords Brawl (which is Toon Link), and Co-Op Event 16: Jigglypuff's Great Comeback (which is Jigglypuff).
