For fighter info, see Chrom (SSBU).

Chrom is one of the main protagonists of Fire Emblem: Awakening. He plays a supporting role in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U as part of Robin's Final Smash, until Chrom himself finally made his full playable debut in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Character Description

Chrom is the prince of the Halidom of Ylisse, direct descendant of the First Exalt, distant descendant to the Hero-King Marth, and the leader of the Shepherds, a volunteer militia that seeks to protect Ylisse from bandits and its neighbor Plegia.

At the start of Awakening, Chrom finds an amnesiac tactician (the Avatar) who mysteriously knows Chrom. Chrom takes them in upon discovering their knowledge of tactics, and the two form a close bond. Chrom would lead the Shepherds to victory in the Ylisse-Plegia War, and after the death of his sister Emmeryn, Chrom becomes Exalt of Ylisse, and father a daughter, Lucina.

Two years later, the nation of Ylisse would come into conflict with the Valm Empire, which is further compounded with warnings of the Fell Dragon Grima from a time-traveling Lucina, who until this point was disguised as Marth to hide her identity. Eventually, Chrom leads the Shephards to defeat Walhart, the leader of Valm, and Validar, leader of the Grimeal.

To combat the Fell Dragon Grima, Chrom performs the Awakening to fully unlock the power of the Falchion; however, the best he can do is seal Grima for 1000 years, as the Dragon can only be killed "by his own hand." Eventually, Chrom triumphs over Grima if he seals the dragon with the Exalted Falchion, or if the Avatar (who is an incarnation of Grima) sacrifices themselves to kill Grima.

In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U

Chrom assists Robin during the latter's Final Smash. When Robin activates his Final Smash, Chrom will warp onto the stage via warp staff and rush toward the opponent, and he and Robin will barrage them with attacks. Chrom will use his Falchion to attack.

Chrom is available as a DLC Mii Costume for the Mii Swordfighter. It costs $0.75 for one version and $1.15 for both versions. A Chrom Mii QR Code is also given in the DLC page of the website. It is available since July 31, 2015.

Prince of the Halidom of Ylisse and descendant of the Hero-King Marth. He leads a militia force called the Shepherds that protects Ylisse. Though he can get reckless when training-things end up broken-he can be counted on in the head of battle. He and Robin combine their skills in Robin's Final Smash.
