The Bridge of Eldin is a stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl based on The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

In the Super Smash Bros. series

Bridge of Eldin appears as a default stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Bridge of Eldin is a totally flat stage. King Bulblin occasionally interferes with the battle by throwing bombs that destroy the center of the bridge. Characters can take damage from the exploding bombs, touching King Bulblin which has low knockback and can also fall into the abyss underneath the bridge. After a short amount of time, a twilight portal appears and drops the missing section back onto the bridge.

If King Bulblin is hit a sufficient number of times before he gets to the middle of the bridge, he won't drop a bomb.

The stage is almost always banned in competitive settings because it is possible to walk off into the blast line, which allows for camping and easy K.Os, especially since characters like King Dedede can chain grab opponents over the edge of the blast line with little difficulty. In addition, when the center of the stage is destroyed, players - especially those with great recoveries - can camp by moving from one end to the other.

Glitches

The Bridge of Eldin is known for various glitches involving using Final Smashes in the destroyed bridge area as the bridge reforms. One such minor glitch is if a character uses a Final Smash that suspends them in midair in this area while the bridge reforms around them, such as Donkey Kong's Konga Beat, they'll be able to move while airborne inside the bridge until they jump out of the bridge or fall through the bottom. The more notable glitches on this stage are the Puff Up Glitch, Diffusion Beam Glitch, and Golden Glitch.

Trivia

  • Occasionally, a lone Bulblin will run on to the stage, accompanying King Bulblin. He is usually knocked away from the bomb on the bridge, yet he can be attacked to halt his movement. He deals no damage to the player. If the Bulblin is damaged enough, it'll fall off of the bridge. If it is not hit by the bomb's explosion, it will simply walk off the bridge once it reaches the gap.
  • In the background is visible the Twilight Princess version of the Hyrule Castle, which appeared as a playable stage in SSB. Note that the SSB's version of Hyrule Castle is the Ocarina of Time version of the castle.
  • If there is anyone under or on the ledge of the bridge when it forms the player will be launched down.
  • If any items are by the explosion when it goes off they will oddly dissappear.
  • There seem to be small like gates or castles on each side of the bridge.
  • If King Bulblin appears on the left/right side sometimes, when he comes to destroy it again, he'll appear on the same side again side even though he would have to run back from the other side.
  • There is a simple way to tell when king Bulbin is coming, a horn is blown from the castle and then stomping is heard.
