Bonkers (ボンカース, Bonkāsu) is a mini-boss from the Kirby series. He was first introduced in Kirby's Adventure for the NES.
Besides trying to whack Kirby with his hammer, Bonkers may also throw explosive coconuts at Kirby.
Bonkers appears as a trophy. It can be collected as a random trophy. He is also available as sticker (in his Squeak squad/Mouse Attack artwork) which powers up Kirby, Meta Knight and King Dedede's weapon based attacks.
A large enemy who wields a giant hammer as a weapon. Bonkers battles you with several moves -- his hammer attack and coconut throw could be considered his specialities. Kirby can inhale Bonkers to learn Hammer and Smash techniques. Not many know this, but Hammer Kirby can also break walls and pound down stakes.
Bonkers appears as a rare enemy in Smash Run, using various attacks with his hammer. Bonkers can either spin the hammer in a circle, pound the player (causing them to become buried) or charge up for the more powerful Hammer Flip. It deals massive damage if hit, though players with high defense will be unaffected as much. Bonkers may also throw explosive coconuts if the player is too far from him and he can also attack by jumping in place. To make matter worse, he is also capable of taking a lot of hits and can't flinch easily, akin to Bowser. His attacks also ahve a lot of endlag, making him punishable.
The Bonkers trophy is a Challenge reward, for reaching a distance of at least 300m (984 ft.) in the Home-Run Contest. Bonkers looks like quite a lot like a gorilla and swings a giant hammer with a high launch potential. If he hits you with his own Hammer Flip attack, it's an instant KO. If that isn't bad enough, he also throws exploding coconuts. Bonkers is seriously out to ruin your day.
Bonkers appears as a Attack type spirit. Predictably, his spirit battle involves Donkey Kong who is equipped with a Hammer in his purple alternate costume. The battle takes place on Kongo Jungle and forest Stage when you fight, as he often shows up in forest themed areas.
- It was implied he was cut from Adventure Mode: The Subspace Emissary when you datamine Brawl.
