Bombchu is an item introduced in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, originally from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. They can rush on walls and ceilings and explode while in contact with a player.

Overview[]

Bombchu are explosive items that can be grabbed and thrown. If one is thrown, it will stick to the stage and quickly pick up speed until it is as fast as Fox's running speed. Bombchu cling to the stage similarly to Hotheads, but if a Bombchu is thrown on a soft platform, it will continue going around it unlike Hotheads which will fall off of it if it reaches the edge of one. Bombchu will explode after about nine seconds of moving across the stage or if it comes in contact with a fighter other than the one who threw it. Like Bob-ombs, Smart Bombs, and other explosive items, Bombchus will explode if they are attacked.

Origin[]

Bombchu first appeared in Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and have only appeared in a few Legend of Zelda games since. In most games that they are present, Bombchu are rarely required if not completely optional. They work very similarly to the way they do in the Super Smash Bros. series. Once it is released, it will dash forward and climb up walls if it reaches any. Bombchu are mostly used to hit targets that are out of reach of far away.

In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U[]

Trophy Description[]

These mouse-shaped bombs crawl on the ground, up walls, and even along ceilings. If you toss one, it will scurry along until it hits an opponent and explodes. They won't blow up you or your friends--so user friendly! They will blow up if struck, though, so be careful.

Trivia[]

  • If its fuse runs out on the underside of a platform, it will fall and explode.
