Blurring Blade (ラピッドスラッシュ Rapiddo Surasshu?, Rapid Slash in Japan) is one of the Mii Swordfighter's Neutral Special Moves. The Swordfighter attacks rapidly with their sword by stabbing it forwards, similar to Dancing Blade in execution but more like Shield Breaker in appearance due to the stabbing motion rather than slashing. The piercing power increases when charged.
In Ultimate, the move was buffed overall, it now has Fire effects during it's duration, dealing Flame damage as well, and the Mii Swordfighter now finishes the move with an upward slash rather than a stab, increasing it's hitbox and deals more damage and has greater launch power. Improving it's KO power. Like Roy's Flare Blade, it can be reversed, but only once.
Overview[]
Strengths:
- Fast execution
- Increase in damage and piercing power with charging
- Some horizontal movement in the air
- The last hit is a good kill move
- Good shield pressure
Weaknesses:
- Missing the attack leaves Mii Swordfighter vulnerable
- Renders the user helpless if used in the air.
Blurring Blade is a good move for players that like to charge up an attack for good damage, kill power, and pressure on the opponent. The move deals 10% uncharged and 24% fully charged, increasing in damage and piercing power when charged up more. When fully charged, it can kill as early as 90% with the last hit. The move's fast execution makes it hard to interrupt once it is launched, though if the attack misses, Mii Swordfighter will still be undergoing the attack animation, leaving him open to punishes for the duration of the attack. The move is great for shield pressure because of the number of hits included in the move. It will also move Mii Swordfighter forwards a bit when used in the air, carrying airborne opponents hit with it off-stage or functioning as a recovery option.
