Throw the sword forward and spin it at a new location. Flick the stick to throw it even farther.
—Description from Ultimate's Move List.

Blazing End is Pyra's side special move.

Overview[]

The move involves Pyra throwing the Aegis directly in front of her, having it suspend in the air, and travel right back to her. When thrown, the Aegis will spin sideways, pushing any trapped opponents with it. When suspended at the move's apex, the Aegis will then shift to spin vertically, then stop and quickly return back to Pyra. During the entire duration, it will hit multiple times and be engulfed in flames. Its distance can also be furthered if the control stick is flicked at initiation, though its power will still remain the same. The final hit of the attack can also hit any nearby opponents if the rest of the move misses.

During Blazing End's duration, Pyra can freely move; however, since she does not have the Aegis on hand, she is unable to perform any attacks, Taunt, or use any Items. The sword also acts as a projectile until its suspension in the air, meaning it can be reflected back at Pyra, Pocketed by Villager and Isabelle, or inhaled by King Dedede; if Pocketed or Inhaled, another Aegis will automatically spawn in Pyra's hand.

Origin[]

Blazing End original

Blazing End as it appears in Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

Blazing End is Pyra's Level III Blade Special in Xenoblade Chronicles 2; the in-game description describes the move as "Concentrate attack on a single enemy, incinerating them". In the game, it is virtually identical to how it is depicted in Smash, though it lacks the forward throw and horizontal spin of the Aegis.
