A Blast KO is a type of KO in the Super Smash Bros. series. It is the most common KO as it can happen on the side and bottom Blast lines in the first three games and on every blast line in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (though Star and Screen KO's can still happen off the top blast line).
Starting with Brawl, every character has either two or no quotes they say when they get KO'd (With the exception of Jigglypuff and Mega Man, who have only one quote each).
Blast KO's will respawn their victim faster than a Screen or Star KO'd character. Thus, the victim is allowed to punish their opponent. The Blast KO consists of a colorful explosion, though certian characters have different effects:
- Mega Man incorporates his orb explosion from his games into his blast KO, while Lumas have a smaller explosion that has stars.
Color
The Blast KO appears in different colors. The color depends on the fighter his/herself. The colors of the blast are the same as the color indicators of the players.

Trivia
- In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Screen KO's end with their victim suffering a blast KO off the bottom blast line after that character has their body pressed toward the screen.
- When playing in a team battle, the color of the Blast KO will match the team colors Red, Blue, or Green. (Yellow is introduced as a new team color in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U's 8 Player Smash.)
