Black Hole Laser is Palutena's Final Smash.
Overview
Paletuna first summons the Black Hole to trap opponents, then proceeds to fire the Mega Laser, dealing damage. The Mega Laser can deal damage even if the opponent was not trapped in the Black Hole.
In terms of damage, the Mega Laser only deals 40% damage, making it weak in knockback, but compensates with its good range, making it useful for hitting multiple opponents at once.
Origin
The Black Hole and Mega Laser were both powers in Kid Icarus: Uprising. In Uprising, Black Hole was only available in Together mode and was used to pull enemies in, suspend them in a single position, and allow players to shoot at the helpless opponents. This carries over into Smash 4 as it holds victims in place while the Mega Laser is used. The Mega Laser was able to be used in both Solo and Together mode and did lots of damage to those hit by it.
Trivia
- The Black Hole resembles Mega Man's Mega Man Legends, as this Final Smash also summons a black hole. However, Palutena's black hole is sustained in the middle of the stage whereas Mega Man's black hole disappears once opponents are captured.
