Paletuna first summons the Black Hole to trap opponents, then proceeds to fire the Mega Laser, dealing damage. The Mega Laser can deal damage even if the opponent was not trapped in the Black Hole.
In terms of damage, the Mega Laser only deals 40% damage, making it weak in knockback, but compensates with its good range, making it useful for hitting multiple opponents at once.

Black Hole Laser
NTSC: Palutena's Final Smash. After doing a divine twirl, she creates a black hole in front of her, drawing in her opponents. When she's got 'em where she wants 'em, she follows up with a wide laser beam that reaches from one edge of the screen to the other. It even changes direction slightly, just in case someone managed to avoid the black hole.
PAL: Palutena's Final Smash. After doing a divine twirl, she creates a black hole in front of her, drawing in her opponents. When she's got 'em where she wants 'em, the next step is a wide laser beam that reaches from one edge of the screen to the other. It even changes direction slightly, for that extra chance of taking out her foes.
The Black Hole and Mega Laser were both powers in Kid Icarus: Uprising. In Uprising, Black Hole was only available in Together mode and was used to pull enemies in, suspend them in a single position, and allow players to shoot at the helpless opponents. This carries over into SSBWU/3DS as it holds victims in place while the Mega Laser is used. The Mega Laser was able to be used in both Solo and Together mode and inflicted high damage to those hit by it.
- The Black Hole resembles Mega Man's Mega Man Legends, as this Final Smash also summons a black hole. However, Palutena's black hole is sustained in the middle of the stage whereas Mega Man's black hole disappears once opponents are captured.
