This article is about the Battlefield in its Super Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U form. For other uses, see Battlefield.

Battlefield was first revealed at the E3 2013 Nintendo Direct for both the Wii U and 3DS versions. It is the standard fighting stage in the game to practice just like in its previous version. Although they appear in both versions of the game, they have different designs in both. Like it's previous incarnation, it runs on a day-night cycle.

Design

Both of the versions of the stage take place on a stone ground with three platforms floating above it. The design of both is completely different. The Wii U version has a more circular form, and more grass on the ground, and it also seems like there are ruins of a temple underneath the stage. On the background several temple ruins can be spotted on little floating islands. Most notable the one with the two red flag which sport the Super Smash Bros. logo and the island with the ruins of a dome.

For 5-player Smash and higher, the stage will turn into Big Battlefield. Big Battlefield is much wider than normal, and has three levels of platforms. There are three platforms at the bottom, two platforms at the middle, and one at the top, forming a pyramid of platforms

The 3DS version there is no grass on the ground, and the stage is more rectangular. The front of the stage has a little stream of water, and some rocks pop out from underneath the stage. On the background of the stage are two trees and some rocks. On the background itself are giant crooked mountains.
