Trivia

  • Banjo & Kazooie’s trailer was a spoof of King K. Rool’s reveal trailer back in the August 2018 Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Direct, in which the cast of Donkey Kong were lounging around until the silhouette of a familiar character appeared, only for the character to reveal themselves as another character with parallels to the character they disguised themselves as. In the case of the first trailer, it was King Dedede and in the second it was Duck Hunt. The character that Dedede/Duck Hunt dressed up as then proceeded to appear themselves by delivering a crushing blow to Dedede/Duck Hunt, before conducting battle with the residents of Donkey Kong’s cabin.
  • Banjo & Kazooie can be considered both Nintendo and Microsoft characters, due to the two console companies’ histories on owning the character publishing rights. This means that Banjo & Kazooie are a 3rd-party character and a Nintendo character in the same-time.
  • Banjo first appeared in Nintendo's Diddy Kong Racing, debuting on November 24, 1997 in America, being used to promote the upcoming release, Banjo Kazooie.
  • The game Project Dream was the basis for Banjo Kazooie. In it told a story about a young lad trying to save his partner from pirates. While it was ultimately scrapped, the boy stood as the groundwork for the Banjo we know today (gradually), and Kazooie was ultimately added in to serve as a double jump mechanic, thus forming the dynamic duo Banjo & Kazooie.
