The Assist Trophy is an item in SSBB. When used, it releases a random character from various Nintendo titles who will fight alongside the person who released it. They are not playable, and most cannot be attacked. The general premise is very similar to the Poké Ball item, only without Pokémon. Also following the general premise of Pokémon, the assist trophies appear to vary in strength and use.
