Angel Land

Angel Land (also referred to as Angeland) is where the events of the NES game Kid Icarus and Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters takes place. Angel Land is divided into three areas; the Underworld, the realm where the goddess of darkness Medusa and her minions dwell, the Overworld, the realm of the mortals, and Skyworld, the realm of the gods, home to Pit, Palutena, and the Centurions. It is also where the Palace in the Sky resides, which can be seen in Brawl the background of the Skyworld Stage, and in the Subspace Emissary. Angel Land was set into turmoil when Medusa and her minions waged war on Palutena and the forces of light. Medusa won, and it was up to Pit to journey across all of Angel Land to gather the sacred treasures in order to free the land from Medusa.

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl

The stage Skyworld is located in Angel Land, the stage has some of the platforms Pit would have to ascend in order to finish the levels in the original Kid Icarus's Skyworld area.

Role in the Subspace Emissary

Pit in Angel Land

Angel Land is where Pit's quest begins. Watching Kirby and Mario fight from a magic pool in the Palace in the Sky, Pit sees the Subspace Army's invasion of This World. Palutena bestows on him her bow to help him find and save Mario, who was blasted to Angel Land by the Subspace Army, and to defend Angel Land from the invasion. Two levels of Subspace Emissary take place in Angel Land (specifically Skyworld).

In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U

Palutena's Temple, known as Angeland in Japan, appears as a stage.
