Abandon Ship is Bowser Jr.'s Up Special Move. Bowser Jr. ejects himself from the Clown Car and rockets upwards as the Clown Car explodes beneath him. Bowser Jr. can attack while falling to the ground. Upon hitting the ground, being attacked, or grabbing the ledge a new Clown Car will instantly re-form around Bowser Jr.

Custom Variations[]
In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, Abandon Ship can be customized into Meteor Ejection and Koopa Meteor.
Meteor Ejection[]
Meteor Ejection has Bowser Jr. jump out of the Junior Clown Car, sending it crashing to the ground. The crashing car has a Meteor Smash effect.
Strengths:
- Abandoned car meteor smashes opponents hit by it while it falls
Weaknesses:
- Slight recovery distance
- Car explodes earlier
The Meteor Ejection move is useful for edge-guarding since Bowser Jr. can drop the car off the edge and meteor-smash recovering opponents; elsewhere it is not very useful. The move will not launch Bowser Jr. as high into the air, weakening his recovery ability.
Koopa Meteor[]
Koopa Meteor launches Bowser Jr. high into the air inside the Junior Clown Car before it explodes, firing him downward.
Strengths:
- Greater recovery distance
- Speedy descent leaves Bowser Jr. helpless for less time
- Explosion from car is a kill move
Weaknesses:
- Easy to SD with
- Cannot use the hammer attack on the way down
- Little horizontal influence
The Koopa Meteor move is a more risky recovery since it blasts Bowser Jr. back down towards the ground at a great speed after the car explodes. It has higher recovery distance but Bowser Jr. can easily SD if the move is used off-stage. Bowser Jr. can't use the hammer attack on the way down, but his meteor-like descent deals damage anyway. The move gives Bowser Jr. less horizontal influence, though he already has a horizontal recovery move in the form of Clown Kart Dash. Bowser Jr. will also be left helpless for less time, meaning he is not as open to attack by opponents. Although it can be difficult to hit an opponent with, the explosion from the clown car is a deadly kill move.
